History

Founded over 60 years ago by Wil Gitzels, our company has developed into a major supplier of cabbage plants in the Netherlands. Due to our modern methods and focus on innovation, Gitzels is ever growing.

In 1999 Gitzels leaped into modernization by moving to greenhouse horticulture area Het Grootslag, now part of Greenport Noord-Holland Noord. Our greenhouses in Zwaag gave way for the construction of a new neighbourhood. As our current location in Wervershoof provides space and equipment to keep growing, we are all set for the long term.

As of spring 2011 we've officially taken over Joh. Kaan Plant Nursery, giving us even more of a solid foundation for the future.
